Job Summary
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on high-volume automated manufacturing production equipment.
 
Job Functions:
The following job function statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required for this position. 
  • Responsible for preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance of all production related equipment. 
  • Respond safely and efficiently to maintenance and repair needs of equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at AESC; promote and support a safe work environment and safety-oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines. 
  • Follow all Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions as required.
  • Conduct all processes and procedures in accordance with department guidelines. 
  • Coordinate and schedule repairs needed on equipment with the area supervisor. 
  • Communicate the repair schedule of equipment with all affected employees in the specific work area. 
  • Troubleshoot, plan, and execute repairs. 
  • Locate, identify, and prepare parts listed to complete repairs. 
  • Provide support and training to less experienced team members when appropriate. 
  • Write detailed preventative maintenance procedures and develop preventative maintenance schedules. 
  • Document all repairs thoroughly; Utilize and participate in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Perform static and dynamic inspections of equipment. 
  • Assist in new equipment installation and existing equipment moves. 
  • Assist engineering in major projects and machine overhauls. 
  • Demonstrate willingness to accept direction from management and peers to improve quality, performance and productivity. 
  • Work effectively as a team player with peers and other departments to improve quality, performance and productivity. 
  • Follow all safety programs and policies. 
  • Keep work area safe, clean and orderly using 5S system (standardize, sustain, sort, set in order and shine) 
  • As a member of the maintenance team, act as “emergency coordinator” - respond immediately to any workplace accidents that arise to tend to the tools and equipment involved. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 
 
Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree in or related program preferred. 
  • Prefer 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience OR 0-2 years of experience and a two-year technical degree, industrial maintenance certification (or equivalent). 
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s): Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot programs (creating, editing and troubleshooting is preferred)
  • Robotics: Ability to troubleshoot, teach paths and mechanical understanding (Will Train
  • Pneumatic/Hydraulic: Ability to read schematics, understand fluid power concepts.
  • Electrical Maintenance: ability to read schematics, understand/troubleshoot motor control circuits, from low voltage to 480V, 3-phase.
  • Safety: Work in a safe manner at all times being aware of potential hazards in the area and safeguarding those hazards.
Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
  • Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts.
  • Ability to recognize safety concerns. 
  • Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment.
  • Ability to assemble and repair complex machinery. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong coordination and judgment skills 
  • Basic math skills 
  • Ability to properly use appropriate measuring tools. 
  • Alertness and careful attention are required to avoid injury to self and others. 
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently. 
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and blueprints for machined parts and equipment. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.
  • Leadership training and skills are helpful.

Work Environment
The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic. The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
