Medical Records Coordinator
Fulltime 1st shift
This position implements and maintains the policies and procedures for the health information function of Aldersgate according to professional standards, local, state and federal regulations; audits and/or oversees the auditing of all resident charts documentation upon admission and readmission; maintains and controls the release of medical information after properly authorized according to Aldersgate policy, state and federal regulations; codes with the ICD-10-CM coding classification system diagnoses on admission, readmission, additional diagnoses, and laboratory as needed; knowledge of regulations, survey process, accreditation standards and professional standards of practice related to long-term care; proficient in the application of ICD-10-CM coding appropriate for long-term care. High school graduate or equivalent with one year of experience in a long-term care setting preferred. Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred.
