Metallurgist
American Roller Bearing has an immediate opening for a Metallurgist. The successful candidate will work with multiple bearing manufacturing facilities on issues concerning the material and metallurgical processes used in the production of industrial size rolling element bearings. Developing new, or improving existing metallurgical processes. Reviewing material specifications for bearing components (monitoring incoming material for composition, hardenability and cleanliness). Work closely with Heat Treat (monitoring HT cycles, process, temperatures and surface carbon levels).
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor of Science or Master’s Degree in Metallurgy or Material Science, with a major emphasis in Ferrous Metallurgy. Strong computer and written/verbal communication skills. 10 plus years’ experience as a process metallurgist with emphasis in gas carburization and neutral hardening.
