Wilkes County Librarian
ALA or regionally accredited MLS required. The County Librarian provides professional guidance to a staff of 21, directly supervises 5 employees, and is responsible for all public services, budget management, and internal operations (including facilities maintenance) necessary to run a county library. She or he is the library's ambassador and is responsible for promoting the library and its services in the community. The County Librarian also participates in planning and budgeting with the Director, works with the other County Librarians in regional activities, plans and facilitates the meetings of the local library board, and maintains a good working relationship with the local library board, local Friends groups, and local funding agencies. The County Librarian reports to the Director of Libraries of the Appalachian Regional Library.
