Training Manager
Associated Asphalt has an immediate opening for a Training Manager based in our Corporate Office in Roanoke, VA. This position will develop and implement industry-based training at Associated facilities across the eastern United States. The ideal candidate will have training program development and facilitation experience in an industrial/operational setting with a working knowledge of OSHA and Environmental regulations and training requirements. General Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Training and Development team to include selection, training and development, coaching, counseling and performance management.
- Work cross-functionally to plan, organize, design, develop, communicate and implement training-related programs that ensure clarity of message, define "actionable" items and outline expected business results.
- Determine the most effective training vehicle for each training-related intervention and ensure that adult learning principles are consistently applied.
- Facilitate the design and development of new training programs, training tools and aids.
- Review and evaluate the effectiveness of training-related initiatives based upon business results, internal "client" feedback and/or quantitative measures such as training evaluations or knowledge/skill "tests".
- Review and integrate external training materials/resourced for internal use where we can leverage vendor-related support or negotiate with outside training vendors.
- Conduct 'train-the-trainer' sessions for the field, Business Unit and Home Office Leadership Team on new and existing programs to ensure consistency in content/message across all markets.
- Determine regulatory training requirements (to include but not limited to OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and Coast Guard) and develop curriculum's, delivery systems, and tracking processes to ensure compliance and required proficiency is achieved across the business unit.
- Develop, implement, and managed SOP and SSP standardization across the business
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of Five (5) plus years of training related experience.
- At least 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience.
- Prior experience in a leadership position in similarly sized organization.
- Familiarity with manufacturing or heavy industrial industries.
- 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in curriculum development, implementation and over site.
- Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential strongly preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience with developing and instructing utilizing the "Adult Learning Methodology."
- Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Possess either possess a valid TWIC card or have the ability to obtain.
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to work inside or outside in a variety of environmental conditions.
- Able to stand, sit, stoop, bend or climb as necessary.
- Able to work in confined spaces and around various chemical components.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Able and willing to travel on a regular basis to Company terminals, conferences, training's and so forth.
