The Event Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, and execution of major campus events. This role involves working closely with various departments and overseeing all logistical aspects to ensure seamless and successful events. The Event Coordinator serves as the primary contact for the use and approval of all campus spaces and is tasked with ensuring all events align with institutional standards and policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and manage logistics for major campus events, including but not limited to, commencement, conferences, and special gatherings.
  • Collaborate with the facilities and custodial teams to submit and manage work orders for table and chair arrangements, ensuring timely setup and teardown.
  • Maintain and oversee the campus calendaring system, ensuring all events are accurately scheduled and do not conflict with other campus activities.
  • Serve as the vetting agency for all campus events, ensuring proper use and approval of campus spaces while coordinating with the hosting departments.
  • Review and approve event proposals from various departments, ensuring they meet institutional guidelines and requirements.
  • Perform physical tasks such as moving and setting up tables and chairs, often requiring lifting and carrying.
  • Coordinates all aspects of rental agreements and summer conferences, including policies and finance management.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Two years of related experience required.
  • Accurate and exemplary attention to detail and ability to problem solve required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with diverse groups required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving tables and chairs required.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed required

Pay is competitive, and salary is commensurate with experience. This full-time position offers a full benefits package, including paid tuition at the College for eligible dependents.

Located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley, just minutes outside of Harrisonburg and within driving distance of Charlottesville, Washington D.C., and Richmond, Bridgewater is home to approximately 1,400 full-time students from 26 states and 19 countries.
