QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. (Recommended fields: Accounting, Business Administration, Management, Math, Social Sciences) One to three years of experience in college financial aid operations with a working knowledge of Federal and State financial aid regulations, policies, and procedures. Experience working in a higher education setting. Community college experience highly beneficial. Strong organizational skills required. Prior experience in Datatel Colleague or Financial Aid/EDE software programs preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, team-oriented approach, and ability to work in a congenial and professional manner with students, faculty, and staff. Excellent customer service skills. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple functions or tasks effectively. Competence in computing skills, especially Word, Excel, and Power Point. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Must be able to balance, stoop, kneel, and reach with hands/arms and work using a personal computer. The Assistant Director, Financial Aid will have a key role in analyzing, interpreting and aligning all federal, state and institutional aid programs with the institutions compliance and integrity objectives as well as all governing bodies of federal and state and institutional aid assistance. This position will assist the Director in providing strategic oversight, expert-level guidance and leadership related to processing, workflow development and quality and compliance reviews with all financial aid programs within a dynamic and changing environment.
