COORDINATOR, PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university required. Prior to or within first three years of employment, must have preparation in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation and evaluation, appropriate to assignment. Two years of experience as a registered nurse in acute care setting. Possession of a current unrestricted license or multi-state licensure privilege to practice as a registered nurse in North Carolina. Possession of an appropriate, valid driver’s license. The Coordinator, Practical Nursing Program; Instructor is primarily responsible for the planning, delivery and evaluation of classroom, laboratory and clinical instruction and for providing those related services and support activities required for optimal student learning and effective educational programming. In addition to the classroom and laboratory settings, may instruct students in the clinical setting, evaluate student progress in clinical, advise students related to clinical progress, and evaluate clinical activities. The coordinator is also responsible for assisting the program director with orientation and evaluation of clinical faculty, maintaining rapport with clinical agencies and participating in curriculum implementation and program evaluation.
