The Assistant Chief Engineer will assist the Senior Chief Engineer in overseeing and directing the physical maintenance and repair of Class A commercial office buildings, including all engineering, maintenance and repair services. Of primary importance are the operations of all mechanical, electrical, life safety and plumbing equipment.
Successful candidates must have skilled knowledge in the following areas:
- Extensive familiarity in operation and troubleshooting of large commercial HVAC systems
- Operational, troubleshooting and utilization of Energy Management Systems, Lighting Control Systems, Daylight Harvesting and other automated building systems
- Extensive familiarity in electrical distribution, emergency power and lighting systems
- Advanced understanding of plumbing systems and fixtures
- Operational understanding of fire protection systems
- Exterior curtain walls, glazing systems and roofing systems
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervise daily work efforts and schedules of the maintenance technicians. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating employee performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from a four-year college or university and ten years’ experience in Class A office building operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems and have the ability to learn new hardware/software quickly and proficiently. Must have the ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as are strong troubleshooting skills and diverse technical abilities.
License/Certification: Valid driver license required to operate company and/or personal vehicle to pick up supplies/parts and/or travel to other Childress Klein locations and/or attend company functions.
