FIREFIGHTER - The City of Monroe Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of full-time

Firefighter to perform specialized firefighting, rescue, emergency medical and hazardous materials response work. 

The City of Monroe Fire Department will provide necessary training and certifications. 

Applicants need to be able to learn fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical and hazardous materials response techniques.  High school diploma or GED required.  Must possess a valid driver's license.  Must be of good moral character and be 18 years of age.  Must meet and obtain all departmental training and certification requirements for the position. 

Work schedule consists of 24-hour rotating shifts including holidays, weekends, and nights. 

Starting salary is $17.28 per hour; $50,319.36 annually on a 2,912 hour schedule. 

The ability to speak Spanish is a plus. 

Applicants must complete an entry level Firefighter written test to be considered for employment. 

Tests are scheduled at Monroe Fire Station 4, located at 3907 Old Charlotte Highway, Monroe NC 28110 on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. or on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
