Line Apprentice I, II, III or Journeyman

City of Monroe - Line Apprentice I, II, III or Journeyman - Assisting in the construction and maintenance of electric distribution systems and related facilities.  Some knowledge of electric line construction and maintenance and the hazards encountered; ability and willingness to learn to set poles, string wire, and perform related work; strength to perform manual work and physical stamina to withstand working under adverse weather conditions; ability to climb poles. Works outside normal hours in emergencies and performs on-call
duties.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Some knowledge of electric line construction and maintenance and the hazards encountered; ability and willingness to learn to set poles, string wire, and perform related work; ability to perform manual labor; ability to follow oral directions; ability to observe safety rules and regulations; strength to perform manual work and physical stamina to withstand working under adverse weather conditions; ability to climb poles; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.

Salary range $37,211 to $100,464 annually.
