Stormwater Engineering Manager
City of Monroe Stormwater Engineering Manager: The City of Monroe is seeking a Stormwater Engineering Manager to performs difficult administrative, technical and professional work overseeing the City’s Stormwater Management Program; coordinating and participating in planning, designing, and construction; administering environmental policies and, ensuring compliance with applicable ordinances and statutes; does related work as required. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Engineering. Supervision is exercised over stormwater personnel. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering as applied to land development and stormwater management; ability to plan, lay out, and direct the work of stormwater personnel; ability to inspect projects for compliance with ordinance and code provisions; ability to prepare plans and specifications in the area assigned; thorough knowledge of modern methods and techniques as applied to the design of public works and stormwater projects; ability to perform difficult engineering computations and to make thorough recommendations on engineering problems and planning; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, associates, land developers, contractors and the general public. Skilled in the use of civil engineering instruments and equipment and application of computer aided design software; ability to present technical information and communicate complete ideas effectively, orally and in writing; ability to calculate complex cost reports. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or related field and extensive experience in public works and stormwater management.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of North Carolina is preferred but not required if other applicable certifications and/or experience can be demonstrated.
Salary range $82,493 to $162,406 annually.
