Water Resources Crew Leader II
CITY OF MONROE WATER RESOURCES CREW LEADER II: The Water Resource Division is seeking an individual to perform difficult skilled technical work supervising, overseeing, and operating a variety of medium to heavy equipment needed for the installation, repair, and maintenance of water and wastewater systems and appurtenances; does related work as required. Supervision is exercised over subordinate personnel. Oversees, supervise and participates in the operation of medium to heavy equipment used for installing, maintaining, operating, and repairing water and wastewater lines, pumps, and appurtenances; knowledge of two separate utility systems, including regulatory requirements for both. Thorough knowledge of the, operation, maintenance, and capabilities of equipment, used in the installation, replacement, maintenance, and repair of water and wastewater system components; thorough knowledge of the regulatory requirements, acceptable materials and best practices of two utility systems, including occupational hazards and safety practices. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, experience supervising subordinate personnel, and extensive experience in the maintenance, repair, operations, construction, and supervision of motorized equipment used in water distribution and wastewater collection, as well as overseeing and supervising heavy manual work. Possession of an appropriate commercial driver's license, including tanker endorsement, valid in the State of North Carolina. Possessions of OSHA Competent Person certifications for Trenching and Shoring and Confined Space Entry; possession of NCDEQ Grade II or III Collection and Grade B or A Distribution System Operator certifications (5 total certifications); ability to obtain one additional Wastewater Collection or Water Distribution System Operator certifications within 18 months.
