Water Resources Crew Leader II
CITY OF MONROE WATER RESOURCES CREW LEADER II: The Water Resource Division is seeking an individual to perform difficult skilled technical work supervising, overseeing, and operating a variety of medium to heavy equipment needed for the installation, repair, and maintenance of water and wastewater systems and appurtenances; does related work as required. Overseeing, supervising and participating in the operation of medium to heavy equipment used for installing, maintaining, operating, and repairing water and wastewater lines, pumps, and appurtenances; must maintain knowledge of two separate and utility systems, including regulatory requirements for both. Responsible for staff development within the Water Resources Department Career Ladder Program. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, experience supervising subordinate personnel, and extensive experience in the maintenance, repair, operations, construction, and supervision of motorized equipment used in water distribution and wastewater collection, as well as overseeing and supervising heavy manual work. Possession of an appropriate commercial driver's license, including tanker endorsement, valid in the State of North Carolina; possessions of OSHA Competent Person certifications for Trenching and Shoring and Confined Space Entry; possession of NCDEQ Grade II or III Collection and Grade B or A Distribution System Operator certifications (5 total certifications); ability to obtain one additional Wastewater Collection or Water Distribution System Operator certifications within 18 months.
