Grounds Superintendent and Recreation Specialist
The City of Tega Cay is seeking to fill the following positions:
• Grounds Superintendent
• Recreation Specialist
Grounds Superintendent - Reports to Operations and Parks & Recreation Directors. Under limited supervision completes simple to moderately complex tasks to ensure the maintenance of city facilities and equipment. Performs lead parks and landscaping related duties and acts in the absence of the Parks & Recreation Director.
Minimum Qualifications Required: Education and Experience: An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Turf Grass Maintenance, Landscape Maintenance or related field is preferred; High School Diploma and at least five years of maintenance experience with at least three years of supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid state driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle record; Field related licenses or certifications preferred (CDL, CPSI, Commercial Pesticide License, Turf Management).
Recreation Superintendent - Reports to the Parks & Recreation Director or Deputy City Manager, in absence of the Parks & Recreation Director. Under limited supervision complete simple to moderately complex tasks overseeing youth/adult sports leagues and the operations of the Beach & Swim Center. Performs lead recreation-related duties and acts in the absence of the Parks & Recreation Director.
Minimum Qualifications Required: Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management, Public Administration, Sports Management or related field and at least five years of Parks & Recreation experience with at least three years of supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Licenses and Certifications: Valid state driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle record; Certified Parks & Recreation Professional and/or other field related licenses or certifications.
