Electronic Services and Online Learning Librarian
Cleveland Community College is currently accepting applications for the position of:
Electronic Services and Online Learning Librarian
Provides professional library services to students, faculty, staff and community patrons including information literacy instruction and reference service; manages Library website; provides leadership in the application of electronic technologies related to library and information services; plays an active role in library outreach and programming; participates in library operations including providing assistance with policy and program development, review and planning.
Required Qualifications:
1. Masters of Library Science
2. Experience with instructional design and delivery
3. Experience with web design
Essential Duties:
1. Participates in planning, scheduling and implementing information literacy services to all library patrons
2. Assists Collection Management and Instruction Librarian with technical operations and requirements of integrated library system
3. Participates in the preparation of library instructional materials, guides, and bibliographies
4. Serves as liaison with assigned Discipline Coordinators to foster collection development, coordinate instructional activities, and market library and learning resources with a focus on online and off campus courses
5. Works collaboratively with distance learning support staff to support online students and faculty with regard to library resources and services
6. Participates in the review and evaluation of databases, periodicals, and reference materials and assists with weeding and refinement of all Library collections
7. Participates in library policy and procedure development and review
8. Participates in evaluation of library services and facility
9. Provides reference service and assistance using traditional and virtual methods
10. Collects and disseminates statistical information pertinent to technical services
11. Develops and conducts learning needs and outcomes assessments on all aspects of information literacy and reference services to ensure that a high standard of service quality is maintained
12. Designs and delivers information literacy instruction classes and workshops for students, faculty and staff as related to online and off campus programs
13. Creates and maintains Library website to include instructional support content, Research Guides, bibliographies, tutorials, presentations, and directions.
14. Coordinates reference, instruction, and information literacy assistance to online and off campus students and faculty
15. Participates in the review and evaluation of databases, periodicals and reference books and assists with weeding and refinement of all Library collections as directed
16. Identifies, evaluates, and implements emerging technologies that support all aspects of library services with a focus on instruction and research activities for local and remote learners
17. Participates in inventory of Library materials
18. Participates in Library policy and procedure development and review
19. Participates in review of library services and resources to ensure compliance with College, state and federal codes, guidelines, and policies related to accreditation standards, copyright and intellectual property rights, and ADA/Sections 504 and 508
20. Serves on College committees and taskforces as assigned
21. Participates in professional organizations and professional development activities
22. Performs other duties as assigned
23. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
24. Knowledge of and experience with web design utilizing LibGuides
25. Ability to design and deliver effective instruction online and in person to a variety of audiences
26. Excellent oral and written communication skills
27. Knowledge of emerging technologies and their application to information literacy instruction
28. Knowledge of Blackboard and/or other LMS
29. Ability to work effectively and collegially with others
30. Ability to think critically to process information, analyze data, make assessments, and exercise good judgment to make decisions
