Job Summary:

The Department of Counseling, Administration & Adult Learning at Cleveland State University is hiring a Visiting Assistant Professor to begin January 16, 2024 in the counseling programs. CSU is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. CSU is striving to be a nationally recognized and student focused public research institution that provides accessible, affordable, and Engaged Learning opportunities for all.

The successful candidate will be working in a premiere counselor education program that enrolls a diverse student body with nationally recognized faculty. The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate from a CACREP-accredited doctoral program in Counselor Education & Supervision.

The successful candidate will serve as a core faculty member for the CACREP-accredited Clinical Counseling and School Counseling programs. They will also engage in service and assist in coordination of practicum and internship. Review of applications will begin 22 November, 2023 and continue until the position is filled.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Counselor Education & Supervision from a CACREP-accredited doctoral program;
  • Experience teaching at the graduate level; and
  • Licensed or license eligible as a Professional Counselor or School Counselor in Ohio.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership activity in the Counseling profession;
  • Experience in School Counseling;
  • Licensed in Ohio as a Professional Clinical Counselor with a Supervision designation;
  • Record of scholarly research and publications;
  • Documented evidence of graduate level teaching effectiveness.
