SEWERS (8 POS) needed for temporary, F/T employment. Sew pillows, different styles of seat pads & backs, & other products for seasonal outdoor patio furniture cushion mfg. Produce finished sewed pillows & cushions using a variety of stitches, fabrics, & threads by operating sewing machines & hand tools such as fabric cutters & fabric spreaders. Operate industrial sewing machines, incl setting & adjusting timing & tension settings, cleaning, & replacing needles as needed. Perform sewing tasks efficiently while observing all safety procedures & rules. Keep workspace organized & clean. Maintain & report accurate personal production data. No edu is reqd. Must have at least 3 months prior F/T employment exp sewing textiles, cushions, pillows, or other similar products in a mfg setting. Must be able to obtain a state driver's license. Employer will offer at least 40 hrs of work per wk, Mon-Fri, between the hrs of 6:30am-5:00pm, w/ 1 30-min. lunch break. Workers are needed Nov 15, 2018 to May 31, 2019. Work will be performed at worksite in Rock Hill, SC. Workers will be paid no less than $12.62 /hr. Availability of OT hrs may vary & will be paid at the OT wage rate of $18.93 /hr. Employer will provide on-the-job training in the proper use & maintenance of employer's sewing machines as needed. Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid weekly by direct deposit. Employer intends to offer assistance to workers in locating & securing adequate lodging for the employment period. Workers are not reqd to accept employer's assistance in securing lodging. The cost of such lodging will vary & will be borne by the worker. Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck as reqd by law. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation & subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation & subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment w/ another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical & reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $12.26 /day during travel to a max. of $51.00 /day w/ receipts. Workers are responsible for daily transportation to & from the worksite locate in Rock Hill, SC. Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, & other related fees, incl those mandated by the government (except passport fees). The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, & eqpmt reqd to perform the job. The employer guarantees to offer work for hrs equal to at least 3/4th of the workdays in each 12-wk period of the total employment period.
