3 to 5 years experience supervising the manufacturing, drying And shipping of green and kiln dried hard wood lumber. Strong Knowledge / Communications skills of all aspects of Dry Kiln Operations.
Provide first-line supervisory duties to the Dry Kilns, Hurst Boiler, Dry and Green lumber. Responsible for safety and efficiently producing high quality kiln dried lumber, supervising the Kilns, Hurst Boiler, training Kiln/Boiler Operators. Manage the quality control efforts of the Kiln area and serve as the key contact with the green end quality control efforts. Oversee quality control issues throughout the plant to ensure a quality product is being produced. Manage the activities of all employees to ensure that all Kiln and surfacing activities are conducted according to best industry standards. Supervise and coordinate all maintenance on the Boiler and Kilns. Inspect proper stacking and storage of green lumber and proper kiln package construction. Ensure proper kiln loading, operation and maintenance to achieve uniform drying conditions. Manage inventory-tracking procedures and ensure accuracy. Identify cost saving opportunities in all areas of responsibility. Support employee involvement and assume leadership role to bring the plant/complex to a high-performance continuation of Edwards Wood Products, Inc. Develop a safe work culture, through leading by example, conductive to safe work habits by leading daily/weekly/monthly safety meetings. Possess good written and verbal communication skills while being self-motivated and energetic.
