Temporary CDL Driver

Job Summary  

The Parking and Transportation department is looking to recruit a Temporary CDL Driver to join their team of professionals.  

  • Operates Shuttle buses between FIU campuses and events. 
  • Adheres to recommended safe driving requirements as set forth by the Office of Environmental Health and Safety; Assures cleanliness of the buses and vans; removes loose debris and containers from the floor and seats to ensure a clean environment.
  • Respond to customer inquires and/or complaints as they relate to transportation services in a courteous manner
  • Assists the manager with scheduling preventive maintenance appointments. Inspects vehicles on a daily basis before starting their route.  Fuels vehicles as necessary. 
  • Assists with event operations
  • Performs other essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, public health emergencies or other emergency closings. The employee is expected to be available to to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by administration

Minimum Qualifications 

High school diploma and two (2) years of appropriate experience in maintenance-oriented work. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for required experience.
