Job Title: Real Estate Paralegal

FLSA Status/Salary: Full Time/Exempt, $70k - $80k/annual

Incentive Plan: Bonus target of 10% base salary

Location:  Charlotte, NC



Forsite Development, Inc. is a Charlotte-based, fast-growing and highly-capitalized firm founded in 2004 to acquire and redevelop industrial real estate, and has blossomed into a respected, nationwide developer working with industry giants in the heavy industrial, chemical, power generation, private equity and banking fields. Forsite’s focus on industrial real estate led to the creation of its Environmental Liability Risk Transfer platform through which Forsite acquires title and remediates sites with known legacy contamination. This redevelopment led to the creation in 2019 of Forsite Renewables, a renewable energy development company that currently has numerous utility scale solar + storage development projects which are mainly focused around retiring power plants.



Forsite is currently seeking an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to join our fast-paced, exciting work environment. This position reports to the General Counsel, working closely with Forsite’s land team and participating as a team member in Forsite’s actively growing renewable energy, risk transfer and industrial redevelopment lines of business.


Below is a summary of expected responsibilities for this position:


Real Estate

  • Coordinate requests and review and analyze property documents including title, survey, zoning; prepare and provide legal memoranda, abstracts and summaries in connection with operating/title documents; assist with business risk assessment of a particular course of action.
  • Perform document review and analysis, legal drafting and negotiation of leases and PSAs (including corresponding options), assignments, easements, compensation agreements, estoppel certificates and ancillary documents.
  • Review check requests, invoices and rent payments related to properties leased or owned; pay rent and other expenses in compliance with lease terms; prepare required legal notices; recommend and coordinate legal action as necessary.
  • Act as primary contact with landlords; prepare and deliver timely, accurate and complete leasing reports.
  • Use project management tools and techniques to assist with work plans, budgeting and tracking.


General Legal & Corporate

  • Prepare routine legal documents, agreements and instruments such as confidentiality, consulting and other vendor contracts.
  • Manage state and local corporate filings (qualifications) for Forsite and its affiliates/subsidiaries.
  • Furnish assistance in financing and business development transactions.
  • Review and process legal bills from outside counsel; develop and implement reports for monitoring outside legal spending.
  • Conduct research, resolve routine law questions and undertake other ad hoc projects under the supervision of the General Counsel.



  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Completion of paralegal training program preferred



  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial real estate matters including title and survey review, leasing, acquisitions, financings and other real property due diligence.
  • Previous law firm and/or in-house legal experience preferred.
  • Previous renewable energy experience preferred.
