Software Engineer

Software Engineer, IBM Corporation, Charlotte, NC (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted): Collaborate and innovate with worldwide colleagues developing state-of-the-art software solutions for the financial industry. Work with technical leads and product management to understand product’s functional requirements. Design code changes to satisfy the requirements and implement the code changes on schedule with high quality. Provide timely and accurate progress status of functional enhancements development to project management to maintain release schedule. Conduct unit-test on functional enhancements and provide defect support for subsequent quality-assurance teams. Contribute product documentation changes that describe use of the new functional enhancements for customers in the financial industry to readily consume and utilize. Interface with the global software team on existing problems, fixes, workarounds, and solutions. Utilize: Programming Languages – Java, DB2 query language – Structured Query Language (SQL), UNIX/Shell Scripting, IBM WebSphere Message Broker/IBM MQ, Version Control Systems – Git, Github, Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies (Scrum). Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related and two (2) years of experience as a Software Developer or related. Two (2) years of experience must include utilizing Programming Languages – Java, DB2 query language – Structured Query Language (SQL), UNIX/Shell Scripting, IBM WebSphere Message Broker/IBM MQ, Version Control Systems – Git, Github, Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies (Scrum). $129,771.06 to $162,000.00 per year.
