Administrative Assistant - College of Business Undergraduate Programs
The Office of Undergraduate Programs in the College of Business (COB) at James Madison University (JMU) seeks applications for an Administrative Assistant. This position will provide administrative support to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and the Director of Professional Development and Engagement in the College of Business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides administrative support to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and the Office of Professional Development and Engagement to include processing travel authorizations and expense reimbursements, and using and reconciling a small purchase credit card. These include travel and other expenses related to student organization funding.
Coordinates, manages and processes information related to CoB student scholarships and at risk students. Assists with maintaining information in the JMU Scholarships Hub and relevant documentation. Works with Associate Dean to issue suspension letters each semester.
Plans, schedules, and coordinates events for the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and the Office of Professional Development and Engagement. Events include, but are not limited to, Family Weekend, Admissions Open Houses, CHOICES, Beta Gamma Sigma tapping and induction, student organization fairs, and College of Business commencement.
Oversees graduate surveys, post-graduation surveys, business school ranking surveys, Beta Gamma Sigma reporting, and the AACSB business school questionnaire, under the direction of the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs. Communicates survey results to appropriate stakeholders. Works with the Director of Marketing and Communication to compile information necessary for fact sheets and other marketing information related to survey data.
Trains and manages student assistants and College of Business Student Advisory Council, including management of the Hartman Hall employer space, prospective student tour scheduling, and virtual interview rooms. Works with leadership of the Student Advisory Council to manage the group’s activities.

- Ability to develop and maintain an understanding of mission of College of Business and academic programs
- Ability to develop and maintain an understanding of University and College policies, procedures and practices related to event planning and scheduling
- Familiarity or demonstrated use of University systems such as EMS, Advance, Scholarship Hub, Finance, Canvas, Chrome River, AIM, eVA, or similar software
