Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement

Provides a key role in recruiting, onboarding and retaining staff for the Division Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. Leads the development and facilitation of initiatives that support employee engagement. Coordinates and manages workforce development opportunities and the division’s implementation of its DEI&B plan. Provides management of human resource related day-to-day activities for the division. Reports to Senior Associate Vice President & COO, DPAE.

Administer various human resource-related processes for the Division Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement for staff and student employees; coordinate the recruitment, screening and selection process; draft job descriptions and promotion criteria; prepare a variety of documents to support employee actions; ensure compliance with division and university personnel policies and procedures; serve as key contact and liaison with the Division of Human Resources and the Department of Career Exploration and Development.

Coordinate and manage the development and implementation of employee engagement strategies. Gather data to support decisions about employee engagement.

Manage the implementation and monitoring of the division’s plan for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging initiatives by serving on committee and managing day-to-day responsibilities.

Coordinate and manage workforce development opportunities for the division including technical and soft skills development, as well as diversity, equity and inclusion capacity building.

Manage employment activities including position authorization, preparing job requisition and completing position action transactions.

Communicate appropriate staff information with the senior team and the managers in the Human Resource Division to ensure processes are followed regarding salary recommendations and new hire salary negotiations.

Implement recruitment activities that support a commitment to a diverse workforce. Serve on search committees to ensure consistency in hiring and selection procedures.

Manage the onboarding process for new hires and ensure new hires have access into required systems as well as knowledge and access to campus resources.

Manage employee offboarding, collect resignation letter, collect all university-owned items and ensure termination of all account access.

Assist in the development of the division’s employee recognition program; Oversee, manage and monitor plan on a day-to-day basis.

When needed, coordinate international hires, which include Visas and permanent residency requests; work closely with the General Counsel’s Office.

May provide direct supervision of classified staff; recruit, hire, train, and supervise students; provide functional guidance for student support staff who work within the assigned area.

Maintain and update office policies, procedures and processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation. Serve on various departmental, divisional and university committees; participate in workshops and special events.

Attend conferences and training opportunities to ensure continuous professional development.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of administrative and office management experience to include experience with employee recruitment, DEI Initiatives or other human resource related processes OR a combination of education and experience equivalent to eight years progressively responsible experience coordinating human resource processes.
