Field Superintendent
The Field Superintendent will be responsible to plan, direct, coordinate, or budget, usually through subordinate supervisory personnel, activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of the truss systems. They must also read, understand, and interpret construction drawings, travel from project to project in their geographic territory, effectively communicate with customers and vendors, and manage and supervise construction crews on project sites to efficiently build and complete the project on time and in budget while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
The opening is a salaried, full-time position that requires daily travel and potentially working hours in the evening. The position may require moderate physical exertion and may require prolonged standing, bending, squatting and working in awkward positions to fulfill its responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Includes But Not Limited To:
- Travel to projects on a daily basis
- Manage and supervise multiple jobs simultaneously, meeting established timelines, budgets, and delivering high quality work
- Direct and supervise construction crews efficiently and effectively
- Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines
- Periodically assist construction crews in performing some work
- Address all construction/field issues
- Coordinate and communicate with the general contractor and other contractors
- Manage materials and equipment in an efficient and cost effective methodology
- Ensure all safety regulations and protocols are met at all times
- Proactive planning and recognition to prevent problems from arising
- Quickly address and solve problems on the job site
- Creation and execution of progress and work schedules
- Read, understand, interpret, and execute construction drawings
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas
Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to travel on a weekly basis
- College degree, preferably in related construction field or science
- Construction related experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Self-starter, goal oriented, cost conscious
