Project Manager
Merit Automotive US LLC has an opening for a Project Manager in Auburn Hills, Michigan. 40 hours/week; 9am -5pm; Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities: Lead team to support all customer deliverables for mechatronics product family such as column integrated modules, steering wheel switches, switch banks/clusters, HVAC controls and light control modules; create and update project plan by developing a detailed project timeline with all involved technical competencies including mechanical design, tool design, electrical design including circuit board layout and software development; create and update project plan by developing a detailed project timeline with all involved manufacturing competencies including injection molding, surface mount technology, software programming & IT&V, final assembly and final test; manage the project within predefined tolerances and to ensure that progress of work complies with approved project timing; ensure that the project provides products with time, cost, scope, quality, risk, and benefits boundaries; manage all project issues and risks, reporting, and escalating to management as needed; prepare, maintain, and track project targets and results on the project scorecard schedule and conduct timely project reviews as required by the project schedule with customers; report the status of the project to the management; work with merit management team to improve profitability and build long term customer strategy; proposing future technical directions; and ensure that the project is carried out in accordance with the Merit PDP process.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or foreign degree equivalent, plus 5 years of post-bachelor progressive experience; or Master’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or foreign degree equivalent, plus 3 years of experience. Experience must include: working with automotive electro-mechanical components, including: column integrated modules, steering wheel switches, switch banks/clusters, HVAC controls, and light control modules; launching products that require the following manufacturing processes, including: injection molding, surface mount technology, software programming & IT&V, and final assembly and test; using mechanical, electrical, controls and software engineering terms and principals; standard for automotive quality management systems IATF16949:2016; estimating, planning, tracking, and controlling projects; product development process; methodical approach to problem solving, including: pareto chart, the 5 whys, fishbone diagram, scatter diagram, and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA); and lifecycle management tools, including Codebeamer and Teamcenter; project management tools as: MS project, MS teams, and FCA tools and processes, including: global issue management (GIM), part return analysis system (PRAS), and design validation plan and report (DVP&R). Travel, once or twice a year to Mexico - duration for each trip 1 week. Travel to different States to visit suppliers; international travel to Europe and Asia – total travel not more than one month per year.
