Resolve Consultant

(State Program Admin Coordinator)

Salary Range: $69,530- $103,419 /annually

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small group that works with state agencies, boards, and commissions, all across Minnesota. The Resolve EAP (Employee Assistance Program) team provides services and strategies aimed at restoring, maintaining and strengthening the health and productivity of employees, teams, and agencies.

The Resolve Consultant is part of the internal EAP Team and is responsible for performing, managing and coordinating the following primary functions of the program:

  • management/organizational consultation
  • development of strategies to manage conflict /change
  • supervisory training
  • group facilitation
  • preventive mental health education services and referral
  • relationship management with HR leads and other partners in state government
  • clinical services in coordination with those provided by the contracted EAP counseling vendor
  • crisis and workplace trauma response

The incumbent will consult with managers, HR, Labor Relations, and unions regarding behavioral issues related to interpersonal conflict, job performance, organizational change/effectiveness, organizational culture, and other situations.

Minimum Qualifications of this position include all of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field plus five years of advanced professional experience, or a Master’s degree plus 4 years advanced professional experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work highly independently
  • Knowledge of and experience with:
    • Theories of organizational behavior and human resource management in order to provide assessment and intervention services.
    • Concepts and processes of integrated case management, including knowledge of the best method of referral for employee cases.
    • Theory and techniques of short term/brief therapy models in order to assist clients expeditiously.
    • Theory and techniques of critical incident stress management and related group crisis intervention strategies in order to effectively respond to workplace trauma.
    • Legal and ethical parameters governing the counseling and employee assistance professions in order to carry out all job responsibilities in an honest and appropriate manner.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of state government policies, procedures, processes, laws and rules and general knowledge of the administrative areas of government, including employee relations, labor relations and administrative services sufficient to apply them to employee/agency client problems and solutions.

Additional Requirements

Minnesota Management and Budget will conduct reference checks to verify job-related credentials and a criminal background check prior to appointment.

This position will have the flexibility to telecommute, work a hybrid schedule or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to complete a telework agreement. The incumbent may be expected to work a portion of their time in the office.
