WIC Breastfeeding Assistant Coordinator
General Statement of Duties:
The WIC Breastfeeding Assistant Coordinator will oversee the inventory of pumps and supplies in Administration office. She will provide promotion of breastfeeding in the community, amongst participants and with the WIC Program staff. The WIC Breastfeeding Assistant Coordinator will share information about the WIC Program and its benefits to participants, and assist with WIC Program promotion/education and outreach for the purpose of maintaining and increasing participant utilization
Qualifications:
Candidate should be a qualified Nutritionist, Registered Dietitian, or Licensed Registered Nurse. A Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Economics) with an emphasis in Nutrition defined as a minimum of 9 hours in nutrition which include, 3 hours of introductory nutrition, 3 hours in life cycle nutrition, 3 hours in advance nutrition. Candidate should have experience in BF promotion, and have at least 1 year of counseling BF women. BF credentials are a plus (CLS or IBCLC). Candidate should also possess excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills. Be a self-starter, able to work independently, service oriented with attention to detail. Be committed to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, volunteers, program participants, and other WIC Program supporters.
