Salisbury University (SU) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Budget Analyst in the Division of Administration and Finance.
Primary Job Duties: The Budget Analyst will assist the Budget Officer and the AVP of Administration and Finance in the general management and administration of the institutional budget. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, entering and monitoring budgets; performing various analyses; assisting with the preparation of external financial and budget reporting requirements for the University System of Maryland and the State of Maryland; creating financial and budgetary reports to assist in decision-making; and leading special projects.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the capacity to perform a number of complex accounting, administrative, and project management tasks within and across a variety of administrative and academic units. May lead and train other personnel. May supervise or coordinate the work of others to accomplish daily operations.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Administrative field: Business, Management, Accounting, Information Systems, Marketing or a related field and four years of experience in financial and/or administrative staff work, including accounting, analysis and/or budgeting experience.
General knowledge of accounting principles and statistical methods and techniques. Demonstrated skill in reviewing and processing financial documents and in analyzing financial data. Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral & written communication skills. Must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, independently, and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Workday experience.
This is a full-time, exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
