Manager, Sales and New Business Development
Summary: Manage commercial activities for SynTec products. Direct the sales activities of the school bus specialty seating products including aftermarket. Responsibility for the growth of SynTec products within the bus industry and other markets which leverage the assets of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1. Manage an internal sales team with specific goal of increasing market share within the bus industry. Specific attention is required in the growth of aftermarket parts (seat backs) and accessories. This may require development of special marketing programs.
2. Identifying new market opportunities both within and outside the bus industry with a focus on leveraging the core competencies of SynTec Seating.
3. Maintain relationships with key customer personnel.
4. Develop and maintain sales data to accurately measure performance. Generate regular forecasts.
5. Work as key NHTSA liaison for recalls and reporting.
6. Responsible for creating new business opportunities. This will include managing the quote process internally and externally, negotiating with the customer, providing market and competitive data and development of the appropriate sales strategy.
7. Lead the market development of all new products within SynTec including: a. Development of detailed product definitions b. Development of business cases for new products c. Assist in determining pricing levels, distribution strategies, etc.
8. Work as a key member of cross-functional teams to implement new products into SynTec production process
9. Represent SynTec at product, sales meetings, trade shows and industry events
10. Provide feedback on product enhancements and quality issues as required
11. Analyze and control expenditures related to new products and participate in budget development and execution.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the skill, knowledge and/or ability required.
Education/ Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a technical field along with 7 10 years of experience in sales, with a secondary background in engineering or manufacturing
Reasoning Ability: The individual must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where little direction or precedence is available.
Physical Demands and Travel: The employee must be capable of working in an office or manufacturing environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. There is a requirement for moderate to heavy travel. International travel, including outside of North America may be required depending on assigned programs and customers.
