Driver Instructor

This position is located in the Driver Training Unit, Office of Foreign Affairs Security Training Center, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Department of State, in Blackstone, VA.
The Driving Instructor manages DS driver-training courses and will act as a technical expert in Security / counterterrorist driving. Provides instructional and management support for Diplomatic Security (DS) driver training to the Department of State and other U.S. government agencies. Reviews established training objectives, lesson plans, training materials, and instructional methods for driving training courses; researches and reviews current intelligence related to the Diplomatic Security mission and introduces applicable information into driver training courses.
Knowledge of advanced security / antiterrorism driving, driver training techniques, current protective security methods and skillful in high-speed driving and vehicle dynamics. Experience providing instructional driver training on security/counterterrorist driving, vehicle dynamics, off road driving and motorcade operations, establishing lesson plans and training material for driving training courses, coordinating logistics for a complex training program.
