Position Summary:  

This position is located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The person hired into this position will work out of the Charlotte satellite office and must be within commutable distance to Charlotte, North Carolina, to be eligible.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

The Executive MBA programs at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, a globally recognized graduate program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is seeking a Senior Associate Director. This position, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, will focus on all Executive MBA formats, primarily the newest Kenan-Flagler offering: the Charlotte Executive MBA. These innovative cohort-based programs for working professionals comprise multiple learning environments:
* In-person classes, including orientation for new students.
* Course engagement with interactive case studies and collaborative activities.
* Frequent executive sessions and semi-annual immersive impact weekends to develop business and leadership skills.

In addition to the foundational core curriculum, the programs also deliver a suite of electives, including international and experiential learning opportunities. The Senior Associate Director works with students for their entire MBA journey: from orientation, through the program, until graduation. 

The Senior Associate Director is a critical leadership position focused on continuously improving student satisfaction and relationship-building for UNC Kenan-Flagler’s Executive MBA programs. This person manages numerous aspects of program delivery for these formats: Evening Executive MBA, Weekend Executive MBA, Charlotte Executive MBA. The person in this position who serves as the face of the Charlotte Executive MBA, taking place on nights & weekends, must lead and manage a team to deliver top-ranked MBA Programs while ensuring student satisfaction effectively. The role is on-site when Executive MBA in Charlotte students are in-session and is expected to oversee management of budget, operations, staff, and students. This position works closely with members of the Executive MBA team across all strategic business units to develop and implement strategies to ensure that students have a top-tier experience resulting in a very high level of student satisfaction. 

This role develops and executes student engagement opportunities, enrichment, and other program enhancements and plays a central figure in program delivery. 

The Senior Associate Director reports to the Senior Director of Executive MBA Programs. This role has substantial contact with all Executive MBA students, regardless of the program. The Senior Associate Director directly manages the MBA Student Engagement Event Manager (Charlotte). He/She/They provide(s) direct, and indirect supervision and guidance to the Student Engagement team and are responsible for managing key working relationships with constituents across the business school, partnerships, and campus.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:  
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions, will accept a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and at least 1 year of relevant experience in substitution.

-Night and weekend work is required
-Occasional travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:  
Bachelor or Master’s degree with at least five years of related work experience and demonstrated leadership within higher education, graduate management education and/or progressive public/private industry experience is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who have previous higher education experience including working with students, faculty, and staff. Additionally preferred experiences include program management and execution, budgetary management, team member management, direct supervision and significant experience working autonomously with independent decision-making.
