Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno, Cooperative Extension is recruiting for a full-time Business Development Advisor in Las Vegas, NV. The Business Development Advisor is intended to assist a multi- faceted program in Southern Nevada, including all communities in Clark County. Major functions include providing assistance to area Hispanic small businesses which are in the start-up, operating, and/or expansion phases. This position will work with the Business Development Service Group which is a partnership between University of Nevada Cooperative Extension (UNCE), Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) Office for Economic Development. This position will work to cultivate Hispanic business contacts through involvement in public relations activities involving area organizations (i.e. business councils, development districts, development Authorities, and other economic development organizations, chambers of commerce, and various industry specific associations, etc.), the business community leaders, state and local elected officials and other key government representatives, community college and university related boards/committees, and alumni under the direction of the UNCE Community Economic Development Faculty who may restrict access to certain political or governmental entities as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of related work experience or a master's degree and one year of related work experience.
Related experience: in business ownership and program or business development, i.e., marketing, advertising, international trade or exporting, public relations and/or promotion of small business endeavors incumbent must be bilingual in Spanish and English. Schedule or Travel Requirements Some travel may be required for training or attending program or partner events Full-Time Equivalent 100.0%.
