Position Description:  
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

The Hodges Scholars Assistant Director of Student Engagement will serve as the primary advisor, counselor, and coach to all students selected for the Hodges Scholars program. This position will work directly with scholars to set and achieve goals; plan and execute meaningful internship and research experiences; and help facilitate other professional development opportunities. In addition to working directly with scholars, the Assistant Director of Student Engagement will provide programmatic support for events, program evaluation, outreach. The Assistant Director of Student Engagement is expected to substantially contribute to the advancement and development of the Hodges Scholars Program.

The Hodges Scholars Assistant Director of Student Engagement reports directly to the Hodges Scholars Director and has substantial and primary contact with undergraduate students selected for the Hodges Scholars Program.

Education Requirements:  
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities associated with the delivery and/or management of student support functions, will accept a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and at least 1 year of relevant experience in substitution.

Qualifications and Experience:  

* Master’s degree preferred
* 3 years of professional work experience in higher education, including student advising, teaching and/or career development
* Experience working with diverse student populations
* Multilingual/bilingual Spanish a plus
