Senior UX Designer
Senior UX Designer (The Vanguard Group / Malvern, PA) – Create world-class solutions for a wide range of user, business and marketing goals by leading large-scale initiatives and supporting program-level work; utilize advanced ability with complex problems, research, conceptualization (sketches/wireframes), visual design, information architecture, interaction, and a precise eye for detail to execute intuitive, engaging, and elegant experiences; work in partnership with cross-divisional teams, and business leaders; take into account every aspect of the user’s experience, business and marketing goals to coordinate and deliver design, prototype, and documentation, to the highest possible standards; utilize advanced knowledge of user-centered design principles, visual design, user behavior, interactions, and the company’s brand; utilize a variety of qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to continually improve user experience; analyze data, and client feedback in order to make critical design decisions; develop and leverage a professional network to foster collaboration within the department to support department-wide initiatives, and to improve the ability of the department in resolving issues; utilize advanced understanding of latest technology and devices (including programming languages, network infrastructure, processes, web and mobile application development) to produce technically achievable and efficient interactive solutions; present and sell design solutions to senior management, project teams, partners, and stakeholders; ensure the success of the strategy and the ability to champion the best possible user experience; partner with IT project teams throughout development to execution; test or oversee testing of coded User Interface (UI) to ensure adherence to defined design and behaviors; serve as an information functional tester for one’s own and peers’ web UI design projects; coordinate with Project Managers on project schedules, assignments, and workflows; train and mentor junior staff in best practices of user experience design; provide guidance, training, and motivation; participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Requires Master’s in Fine Arts with a major or concentration in Industrial Design or closely related field and two years of experience in job offered or as UX/UI Designer and/or UI Designer, or closely related field; or Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience. Background in education, training or experience must include experience in interactive web design; demonstrated advanced knowledge in user-centered design principles, visual design, user behavior, and interactions; demonstrated advanced knowledge in all areas of user experience design (information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototype engineering, content, user experience); demonstrated high degree of creativity, empathy, passion, and problem-solving ability; experience solving complex communication problems and designing world-class experiences for mid to large-scale clients; excellent communication skills (story-telling, visualization) and the ability to get buy-in on those ideas within a large organization; proven ability to support design teams and lead a project from concept to completion; experience with whiteboard sketching for quick ideations, storyboarding, wireframing design options, rapid prototyping for usability testing, infographic design and data visualization, motion graphic, illustration, heuristic evaluation; experience must include demonstrated proficiency in Sketch software for wireframe and interface design as well as for complex illustrations; experience with InVision and Principle for interactive prototypes, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator for visual design, and Adobe After Effects to create motion graphics, animation and videos.
