Lead Waste Treatment Plant Design Engineer
The Nuclear Waste Program (NWP) program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a Lead Waste Treatment Plant Design Engineer (Environmental Engineer 5) position. This position is located in our Richland Field Office (RFO) in Richland, WA. The Lead Waste Treatment Plant Design Engineer position is the lead design engineer for the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant (WTP) and other related Tank Waste Treatment (TWT) Facilities.
Responsibilities include reviewing large complex design packages, resolving complex technical issues, coordinating overarching issues, mentoring facility engineers, and working with the facility permit writers to ensure the facility is designed and constructed in compliance with the permit and applicable laws and requirements. We are looking for applicants who possess excellent people skills, the ability to quickly assess a situation and make a decision, able to work in a diverse team environment and possess strong experience in reviewing treatment design technical documents.
