Coordinator/Instructor, Horticulture Technology
The coordinator’s primary purpose is the instructional, planning, and operational aspects of the Horticulture Technology program. The Coordinator of Horticulture Technology, under the direction of the Department Head of Applied Technologies, will help provide leadership of the program and work closely with students, faculty and staff to ensure the viability, currency, and integrity of the Sustainable Agriculture program.
Associate Degree in Horticulture or the equivalent.
Master’s degree preferred.
Previous administrative experience with demonstrated leadership ability.
Good oral and written communication skills required.
Five years of commercial horticulture work experience required.
Experience in commercial greenhouse production, plant propagation, organic production and horticulture specialty crops preferred.
Teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred.
NC Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s license preferred.
Maintain Horticulture facilities.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
Operate heavy machinery.
Ability to travel up to one mile over uneven terrain.
Prolonged periods of walking, standing, kneeling and bending.
Salary: Hiring Range – Minimum to Midpoint ($4,151 – 5,552/monthly) 9-month contract
