Position: Director of Grants and Sponsored Projects

Proposed Hire Date: June 01, 2024

Brief Description of Position:  The Director of Grants and Sponsored Projects, under the direction of the Executive Director, Western Piedmont Foundation, is responsible for the development, submission, administration, and close out of funding proposals that advance the mission of Western Piedmont Community College and assist in the implementation of the institution’s long and short-term goals and objectives. This position can be remote or hybrid.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required. Specialized training in grant research and proposal development preferred.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in English, Communication, Social Sciences, Education, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. Advanced degree preferred.
  3. Three years grant development and/or administrative experience for a non-profit agency or educational institution preferred.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  5. Ability to draft clear, concise narratives, correspondence, budgets, and other documents.
  6. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively as part of a team.
  7. Ability to independently plan, initiate and complete approved assignments.
  8. Interest and flexibility in further developing an innovative model of collaboration among community colleges.
  9. Grant development experience preferred.

SalaryHiring Range – Minimum to Midpoint ($3,793 – 4,109/monthly)
