The Town of Stallings in Union County North Carolina is seeking a qualified, energetic, and professional candidate for the position of Town Manager. The Town Manager is the town's chief executive officer and manages the day-to-day operations of 5 departments and 41 full-time employees with a total town operating budget of over $7 million for FY2017. With a diverse population exceeding 15,000, Stallings is the third largest town in Union County and is a suburb of Charlotte, NC. Stallings is in the midst of planning and implementing key strategic projects that will influence resident's quality of life and the town's future growth potential. The successful candidate is one that is a confident and adaptable leader whose verifiable accomplishments demonstrate effectiveness, outstanding oral and written communication skills, and the ability to present multiple options for consideration while making a clear and professional recommendation for a course of action. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of forging partnerships to accomplish strategic goals and be successful at motivating and managing staff members to work as a team to accomplish organizational goals. The successful candidate will also have demonstrable experience working with the public and/or media and be able to positively represent the organization to citizens and external entities. Requisite skills include strong strategic planning, budget preparation and management, economic development, operational planning, long-term capital planning and management with proven results of delivering on time and within budget as well as direct personnel management experience.

Applicants must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in public/business administration (or technical/scientific field) and at least 5 years of practical management experience in order to be considered. A Master's degree is strongly preferred.

Salary for the position is negotiable and will be commensurate with education, qualifications and experience.
