Early Head Start Teachers and Floaters
We are seeking Teachers and Floaters to provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions. Positions are located in Burke and Mecklenburg Counties. Refer to the chart below for center locations. The Early Head Start Teacher is responsible for the assessment; planning, direction, and implementation of classroom activities for infants and toddlers ranging from six weeks to three years of age in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards, State educational and Department of Human Resources standards, and Agency standards. The Early Head Start Teacher also directs the activities of all volunteers in the classroom. The Floater assists in planning and implementing child activities and programming for a class of infants or toddlers, works collaboratively with teaching team and assists in working with parents and the community as needed.
- A Baccalaureate or Associate Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or a related field or an Infant Toddler Certificate, or Current Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) and
- One year of Infant Toddler classroom experience preferred
- Early Head Start experience a plus
